We are seeing a rapid decline in ordinary obstetrical and midwifery skills across the industry. Mandatory surgery for physician or midwife incompetence is criminal (they call it breech presentation). Escalating interventions without benefit. Rituals that speak to a cult rather than a medical service. Unconscionable rates of trauma and postpartum PTSD.
The medical model of birth services gained a monopoly through the fraudulent Flexner report of 1910 which declared that the biomedical approach to health care was the only 'scientific' approach. This was followed by some epic Rockefeller and Carnegie oil money that funded pharmaceutically based medical training and eliminated all other healing modalities as 'quackery', including any remnant of traditional midwifery.
When applied appropriately, medical services can have beneficial and even life-saving results. However, pregnancy and birth are not normally a medical event but rather an ordinary expression of a woman's sexuality, fertility, and physiology. Away from routine obstetrical management, it tends to unfold much more simply and safely.
The problem with exercising our freedom to choose to have a simple, normal, healthy, and empowered pregnancy and birth without using these services is that this industry has given itself permission to co-opt and control women's physiology for power and profit. Operating as a cult, adherents will persecute women and families who make alternative choices. Choosing to opt out of using these services, women are sometimes faced with explaining their legal and lawful right to accept or decline any medical service for any reason to child protective services (CAS or F&CS). They are often faced with abusive and hostile treatment from medical practitioners. Some are denied the care they need because they didn't accept the care they didn't need.
Being pregnant is no reason to be abused for not wanting to be abused.
We are the change we need.
We are a group of women, men, and families who are reclaiming our sovereignty over our bodies, births, babies, families, finances, and future. We collaborate with one another in sharing ideas, information, and inspiration that improves our wellness, heals our bodies, strengthens our families, and creates a community that brings hope for the future. We are governed by Natural Law in which The Golden Rule to do no harm is our guiding principle.
Creating a thriving family benefits from community care where kindness and respect prevail. Having a baby is a private event for many families where medicalised birth, government overreach, or the intrusion of various regulatory agencies have already brought them harm. A private member association provides a private forum for men and women to connect, share freely, protect each other's health information, and explore and access options not readily available in the public domain.
Once you decide this is for you, there are a few questions we ask. Then we send you our membership agreement that outlines our roles, along with a non-disclosure agreement. If you agree with our community guidelines, you'll submit it to our leadership team. Once we receive it, we'll send you a link where you can sign up by submitting your membership donation. You'll immediately be added to the Hive Community, a private online membership in a proprietary network.
Our membership donations are $34.95/month or $379/year.
As a member of The Hive Collective, you'll receive
